Seguiram-se edições na Wild Oats do já mencionado Kyle Hall, na Watusi High, também de Detroit, e na Technicolour - selo onde lançou o seu album de estreia "Broken Knowz" e subsidiária da lendária inglesa Ninja Tune. A sua música é crua mas quente, inspirada pelo pulso maquinal das linhas de montagem automóvel mas a transpirar jazz e a música negra - profundamente futurista mas solta e humana. O seu DJing tem sido outra surpresa incrível, sendo constantemente citado como um dos melhores do circuito internacional, equilibrando maturidade e inovação, com espírito de desafio e magnetismo.

Still to this day, the global underground scene feverishly reacts to the shock waves sent by the first techno explosion of the mid-80s, coming from Detroit. The decadence of the old days of industrial glory created an empty space that's been spiking the imagination of several generations of sonic sculptors, and the footage of Derrick May and Carl Craig getting emotional about the melancholic beauty of old dance salons turned parking lots and monumental buildings left to decay have become iconic moments of some of the best documentaries about electronic music. Far from stagnated, this lyrical wealth based on urban decay keeps offering us some of the best "newbies" in dance music - and Jay Daniel is a great example of that.
Mentored by another fresh name from the vast Detroit mosaic that goes by the name of Kyle Hall, Jay Daniel had his record debut on one of the most respected labels of the last decades - Theo Parrish's Sound Signature. After that came releases on Wild Oats (Kyle's label), Watusi High, also from Detroit, and Technicolour - the Ninja Tune sub-label that released his debut album "Broken Knowz". His music is raw but warm, inspired by the machinistic pulse of the auto plants but perspiring jazz and black music - deeply futuristic but humane. Jay Daniel's DJing has also been an incredible surprise, being constantly cited as one of the best in the international circuit, balancing maturity and innovation, challenge and magnetism.
