Leader's Trip : Russian communal apartments

We present the ethnographic tour from the Leader of our Team. You may have heard that one of the biggest problems in the Soviet Union (and is still in modern Russia) is housing. In the recent past to get an apartment in the Soviet Union was very difficult. So many families were forced to live together in one apartment with other families and outsiders. It was an amazing phenomenon of Soviet times - communal apartments (communalka). A whole generation of Soviet people growed up in these apartments. Special atmosphere strife and mutual assistance was in communalkas. Also in a communal kitchen many people gathered to discuss various issues and argue on various topics (from football to politics). Today we are going to one of these apartments (still exist to date) and feel the unique atmosphere of the era, which is almost a thing of the past.
